Patagonia: The Right Fishing Angle

Man Fishing in Lake Wearing Patagona Waterproof Waders

You may know Patagonia for their excellent outerwear, their understandable ubiquitous P6 t-shirt or their lovely range of shirts. But rather predictably, they have more than that to boast about. Their angle – quite literally – on fishing is very much in keeping with the brand ethos we all know and love.

First and foremost, their clothing is typically time-served and the perfect example of something doing what it says on the tin. It’s reliable and understated. Their waders are a good example. Anyone who knows anything about fly fishing will tell you it all starts with a good pair of waders and in these Patagonia waders you’ve got something exceptional from a brand who like to give back much of what they take. If you’re fond of nature, Patagonia are unrivalled in their pursuit to make sure the land on which we live is suitably respected and with their fishing range, this rings just as true.

While Patagonia began as a climbing brand, its founder Yvon Chouinard didn’t just indulge himself with the great outdoors by going up in the world, he liked to surf and unsurprisingly, he was a keen fly fisherman too. This isn’t a brand which operates too far outside its comfort zone in that sense, and it’s all the better for it. This experience across many outdoor activities allows them to share knowledge and technology development amongst their various ranges.

This alongside their clear message of sustainability makes them the perfect brand for an earth-conscious fisherman.
